The Department

Globalization requires linguistically competent men and women in different
languages in order to expand their possibilities to access a world full of
challenges. In this context, the English Department leads our students to use the
foreign language as a tool that empowers them to respond appropriately to the
demands of a changing society.

Objective

The English Department aims to have students who are able to use the foreign
language as a conscious, effective, and efficient communicative tool in every real-
life context, thinking critically and reflecting upon their own experiences.

ENGLISH DAY AND INTERNATIONAL CELEBRATIONS

One day of the school year is dedicated to commemorate the foreign language. Playful, didactic, and meaningful activities are carried out in which students demonstrate their level of communicative competence through a fun and entertaining way. We also celebrate different important dates in the American and British culture such as Saint Valentine’s Day, Easter, Saint Patrick’s Day, Thanksgiving, among others.

INTERNATIONAL EXPERIENCES

Educational and cultural immersion in Canada and England. The students who take part in the program interact with native speakers, developing different communication skills through meaningful experiences that are possible thanks to the multiculturalism of those countries.
